Hello forum
I already haw some experience whit building gasifiers , i haw build updraft , FEMA, and downdraft imbert style gasifier based on (all power labs) GEK 5.0 design.
You can see my gasifier and engine on youtube.
It uses the engine hot exhaust gases to char the wood in the upper part of the gasifier.

Now am starting to built 100Kwe unit similar in design to my youtue video unit , i plan to use PLC for control , and connect the unit to national grid (asynchronous alternator).Am good in design and build gasifiers but PLC and Grid connection :( not my strong side so any help from forum members will be highly appreciated.

Johan,

There is yet very little open source knowledge About automatisation of a gasifier. We are slowly finding our way ourselves with the help from all talented people. I sugest you follow and contribute to the discusion here;

Hi Johan
nice rudemential setup

but function is everything i think

Did you use the heat from the watercooled engine to heat your house ? It must be a big house for the 100KW engine.
Where do you live ? And what did you get paid for putting 1KW into the grid ?

This is the basic design for my 100 Kw gasifier.
It uses engine exaust (450 c) to char the wood in the upper part also serves as engine absorption type exaust.
I allready built this parts on the picture i hope it will work

hey johan
nice setup looks like normal gek style.
what type of wood did you use ? woodchips ?
why did you use the exhaust to prechar the wood ? i think the gasoutlet temperature must be the same or hotter than the exhaust output ?
did you have any dimensions for the "monster" gasifier ?
what type of engine did you use for 100kW electric output ?
did you have any build pictures from the "monster" ?

regards Pascal

Hi Pascal

The video is from my first test gasifier small 1.5l engine 7 kw generator 3000rpm.
The 100 kw is based on this small 7.5cm heart gasifier. i dont use the hot water this is a semi mobile unit :D
I will use the heat from the bigger unit to heat warehouse and i plan to feed the electricity to national grid i live in Macedonia and we haw res 15 Eur cent for kw hour.

Hey Pascal

Dimensions heart 210mm
7 nozzles 17mm
fuel chamber diameter 350mm height 180cm
I use the exhaust for chairing ,the gasifier can handle much more wet fuel .

For engine i will use Scania DS 11 turbochargered engine converted to spark ignition this engine is 11 liters 2000 rpm max.
I plan to use asynchronous generator 1500 rpm.
I use wood chips and wood billets.
For build photos i will post complete build photos tomorrow (from gasifier).

Regards
